There it is! My envelope in the window of Meet me at Mike’e in Melbourne, Australia. How cool is that… which one you ask? the one with all the ribbons running along the side. I love this project!
My Envelope at Meet me at Mike’s
Out, on a whim…
One of the great things about the internet is taking a little unmapped meander through bloggy-land. Following one link after the other, you simply never know what treasure you might happen upon. Today I started out at ::Meet me at Mikes,
one of my regular haunts where I read about this fabulous Dutch illustrator, Noelle Smit.
Pip had heard about her through this amazing little patch of bloggy-land, Zeza&Flor,
which of course meant that I had to go there as well. This is a companion blog for Zeza & Flor shop in Belgium, but it is really much more of a personal blog. Let me just say that this lady understands whimsy! After spending a little time resting on this site, I followed her link to this absolutely glorious illustrator Cristian Turdera. His work is simply to die for. It is sheer joy and jubilation.
I am in love.

The Envelope Project
Pip at Meet me at Mike’s has started this great whimsical project. I already sent off an envelope with some goodies and of course, being me, forgot to take a picture of it to post. So I am going to say that I did it on purpose so that my envelope would be a surprise. That is my story and I am sticking with it!
The project ends in six weeks, and Pip is in Australia so if you are in the States don’t dawdle for too long. As much as I love both the Royal Postal Service and the United States Postal Service, we all know things happen with International mail. Anyway if you want to join in the fun follow this link. I’m thinking I might send another one, just for the heck of it.
Things that make you go tee hee – #3
Have you ever noticed the little smiley face in the upper right hand corner of this WordPress template created by Chris Pearson? Love it!
Chris, Now that’s a Random Act of Whimsy! Thank you.
Oh and I have switched the template here but you can see Chris’s Templates on my other blog loveaphid where I have absolutely no idea what I am going to do, but when I decide I’ll have a blog to do it on.
Terrariums.
For those who know me, they know I have a fascination with terrariums. Well today on Design* Sponge they did a cool terrarium round-up with a link to a great article in the New York Times about the terrarium’s comeback. What could be more whimsical that the mini-est of miniature people painting a landscape upon a bed of moss? You can read the New York Times article and slide show here, the design*sponge round-up here, and view a how to video below if you want to make one of your own.
Enjoy!
